Adoption

Every child needs a permanent and loving home.  Adoption of a child is a way to share the gift of family and community.  Our court is here to assist families in finalizing the legal process of adoption.  An adoption finalization is the court procedure which establishes a legal parent/child relationship, and may change the name of the child to reflect the new familial connection.  The adoption is accomplished by a decree of the court.  An adopted child has the same inheritance rights as a biological child in this new family.
